Assume all your environment variables have been decrypted
That was the instruction deployment platform Northflank gave its customers on 30 October, a little over two hours after a Wiz alert, and for almost ten hours it was the only actionable information they had. Wiz's Black October report counts at least nine development and AI platforms with incidents disclosed that month, and the common pattern is targeted hunting for environment variables holding AI credentials: 1.7 million requests to Amazon Bedrock in 13 hours. Before checking whether it affects you, the half-afternoon exercise that produces the number almost nobody has: rotate one secret with a stopwatch running, and multiply.
